Jerry has been ADOPTED and he now has a loving family, here in Indianapolis. Jerry's new Mom & Dad work from home and his new Shih Tzu brother makes a great playmate.
Indy Shih Tzu Rescue received many inquiries and applications to adopt Jerry. Unfortunately, I have not responded to all communications; for this, I apologize. ISTR has down-sized in the number of dogs we have for adoption. Please continue to watch our website. If you have already applied, you may receive a call when we have an adoptable dog(s). We understand how frustrating it can be to search for a rescue dog. Rescues are typically run by volunteers and each rescue has its own niche in the rescue world. Ours is to rescue 1 or 2 at a time, foster-based, with 1 or 2 foster homes (we are keeping it small currently).
Our favorite rescue to recommend is OHIO FUZZY PAWZ. We have collaborated with them and saved many dogs together. OFP saves many dogs with medical needs, and they spend a lot of money helping the dogs become well. I personally adopted a dog from Ohio Fuzzy Pawz: GIGI I fell in love with Gigi when I learned that she was a Breast Cancer warrior like myself. Her mammary tumors are long-gone and she is a great dog.

They currently have a couple cutie-pies who might be right for your family!
